NEAT Lab Mission: Our lab operates at the intersection of materials science and public health, investigating how engineered nanomaterials and traditional antibiotics interact with microbial systems to address pressing environmental and clinical challenges. We take a mechanistic and evolution-informed approach, studying bacterial adaptive responses to design next-generation antimicrobials and detection strategies. By harnessing bacterial adaptation rather than working against it, we aim to develop innovative solutions to combat antimicrobial resistance and emerging biological threats across both environmental and healthcare settings.
